Driven by desire and passion

We started the process of writing and developing an animation feature film simply because it was what we wanted to do the most - not because it was easy, financially advantageous or even smart. We created The Floating World because we had a passion for it.

All that  truly matters is that we are able to tell a great story - and to do that we have sought out the help of some of the best storytellers in the world.

‍We began working with Sun Creature, a Danish animation studio and production company, 4 years ago. Since then, they have burst into the public eye with Flee, a feature film nominated for 3 Oscars in 2022. They are paving the way for Nordic animation to take a place on the global stage and continue to display the unique use of this art form to explore abstract and ethical queries. 

Freeborn Studios is a new generation entertainment studio located in Copenhagen, Denmark. Our mission is to develop and co-produce stories that have not yet been told, relating to the future of humanity and the philosophical queries behind it in an accessible entertainment medium.
