A family with a dangerously ill child is at the centre of these developments

And as they face the realities of their new civilisation, which questions their very definition of humanity

What will they choose to do, when everything familiar has crumbled?

The setting: Exploring future societies

Tech-based societies of the future are already being built, both visibly and invisibly.

Many are based on ideologies promoting freedom from government control and a new way for humans to thrive.

The Floating World uses seasteading to explore this, an example of a self-governed autonomous floating community existing away from the regulations and media that shape life today
